Matt Noakes

Matt Noakes is a highly experienced computational biologist with a strong background in biophysics and physics, holding a PhD from the University of Washington. Currently serving as a Senior Computational Biologist and Computational Immunologist at Adaptive Biotechnologies Corp. since June 2019, Matt Noakes has developed innovative statistical methods to enhance nanopore experimental tools. Prior roles include Postdoctoral Research Fellow and Graduate Student at the University of Washington, where significant contributions included training teams of researchers and developing novel DNA sequencing techniques that notably reduced error rates. Early experience includes work as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Berkeley Lab, complementing a robust academic foundation with degrees from the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of Washington.
