Jessica Smail has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Jessica began their career as a Registered Nurse at various healthcare institutions including University of Utah Hospitals and Clinics, Intermountain Healthcare, Alta Bates Summit Medical Center, and John Muir Health. Jessica then worked as a Travel Nurse with Cross Country TravCorps.

In 2012, Jessica transitioned into the field of healthcare technology, working as a Clinical Service Analyst at SelectHealth, where they were involved in the implementation of a care management software suite.

Jessica further expanded their expertise in healthcare technology by joining Caradigm in 2013 as a Clinical Analyst and later as a Clinical Program Manager in the Healthcare Analytics division. Jessica Smail is a registered nurse with a Master of Science (MS) degree in Nursing Informatics from the University of Utah, which they obtained from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Registered Nursing/Registered Nurse from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, attending from 2002 to 2004. Jessica's undergraduate studies began with a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biomedical Sciences, General at Texas A&M University, where they studied from 1996 to 2000.

In terms of additional certifications, Jessica obtained several credentials related to Agile methodologies and project management. Jessica became a Certified SAFe® 5 Advanced Scrum Master from Scaled Agile, Inc. in March 2023.
