Mark Beard

Mark Beard is the current Global Director of Process & Application Development at Additive Industries. Prior to this, they held the position of General Manager - Process & Application Development Centre UK and Ireland for 4 years and 11 months. Beard has also worked as the Technical Director and Head of R&D at 3T RPD Ltd for 5 years and 3 months. In this role, they were responsible for growing the R&D department from 1 to 9 researchers, as well as successfully securing the company in a third of the total projects that were funded in a UK Government funding call in Additive Manufacturing. Mark has also increased the company’s cutting-edge reputation by developing new, highly regarded processes and techniques. Lastly, Beard was the X-AT Centre Manager at Exeter Advanced Technologies for 7 years and 4 months.

Mark Beard has a PhD in Engineering from the University of Exeter, which they obtained in 2004. Mark also has a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Exeter, which they obtained in 2001. In addition, they is a Chartered Engineer of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
