LaShun James has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. LaShun began their career in 1992 as the Manager of Senior Services at the Chicago Housing Authority. LaShun then worked as the Director of Resident Services Coordination Program at the City of Chicago from 2000 to 2007. Subsequently, they joined Bethel New Life as the Senior Director of Operations from 2007 to 2009. In 2009, they transitioned to Addus HomeCare, where they experienced significant career growth. LaShun started as an Agency Director and progressed to become the Regional Vice President of Business & Community Development. In this role, LaShun demonstrated exceptional leadership and strategic planning skills, resulting in record-breaking growth for the company. LaShun consistently exceeded business development expectations and built strong relationships with community leaders in various sectors. Throughout their tenure at Addus HomeCare, LaShun received numerous awards, including the Presidents Circle award and CSI's "Changing Lives and Impacting our Community" award. Additionally, they also served as an Adjunct Professor at Moraine Valley Community College from 2003 to 2005.

LaShun James has pursued their education at Northern Illinois University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Business/Corporate Communications. Following this, they attended National Louis University and achieved a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Human Services Administration.
