Alex Elshamouty

Alex Elshamouty has extensive work experience in the technology industry, holding various roles in different companies.

Alex currently works at Adevinta as a Principal Architect and has been with the company since 2021. Prior to this, they were a Principal Cloud Architect at Adevinta from 2022 to 2023 and a Principal Cloud Engineer from 2021 to 2022.

Before joining Adevinta, Alex worked at eBay as a Principal Cloud Engineer from 2020 to 2021. In this role, they managed the infrastructure supporting multiple marketplaces and provided technical leadership and mentorship.

From 2019 to 2020, Alex worked at Textkernel - Machine Intelligence for People and Jobs as a Senior Linux/Infra Engineer. Alex was responsible for supporting the internal cloud team and co-leading a project to enhance platform uptime.

In 2018 to 2019, Alex worked at KPN as a Designer/DevOps Network virtualization engineer OpenStack/NFV. Alex acted as a product owner for the private cloud team and designed, deployed, and automated KPN's internal Nfvi cloud.

Prior to KPN, Alex worked at Bright Computing as a Support/Deployment Engineer (OpenStack Engineer) from 2016 to 2018. Alex offered external consulting services, conducted PoCs on-site, and translated customer needs to backlog items.

From 2015 to 2016, Alex worked at CodeScalers as a Cloud Administrator, where they were responsible for automating the deployment of a private cloud solution.

Before that, they worked at Mhgoz as a Linux system administrator (Cloud and WebHosting solutions) in 2014 to 2015, at Respo Templates as a Software Developer from 2013 to 2014, and at United Group Enterprises - EGYPT as an IT Support from 2009 to 2011.

Alex Elshamouty attended Alexandria University from 2008 to 2012. Alex has also obtained several certifications, including the RHCSA and RHCE from Redhat in 2014 and 2014 respectively, CCNA from Cisco in 2018, Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation from Red Hat in 2018, Enterprise Architecture Foundations from LinkedIn in 2021, and CKA: Certified Kubernetes Administrator from The Linux Foundation in 2022. Alex also obtained the Leadership: Practical Skills certification from LinkedIn in 2022.
