Director Of Clinical And Therapeutic Governance at Adferiad Recovery

Dr. Euan Hails MBE has a diverse work experience in various roles within the healthcare, education, and counseling sectors. Dr. Euan worked as a Consultant Nurse and Visiting Professor at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board since December 2016. In 2020, they became the Director of Clinical and Therapeutic Governance at Adferiad Recovery and a Florence Nightingale Digital Leadership Scholar at Florence Nightingale Foundation. Dr. Euan also served as a Fellow of the Bevan Commission from January 2020. In 2021, Dr. Hails became the Chair and Fellow of the National Council of Integrative Psychotherapists at the National Council of Psychotherapists. Dr. Euan holds positions as a Visiting Professor at the University of South Wales and an Associate Professor at the Medical School of Swansea University since 2018 and 2017, respectively. Additionally, they have been an Honorary Member of the Ukrainian Institute/Association of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy since September 2013. Lastly, they have contributed to the field of counseling as the Regional Lead for Wales and CPN Trustee at Counseling in Prisons Network and as a Committee Member of the CYP Staying Healthy Forum at the Royal College of Nursing.

Dr. Euan Hails MBE has a diverse education history. Dr. Euan began their education journey in 1984 at Cardiff University, where they obtained a degree as a Registered Mental Nurse, specializing in psychiatric/mental health nursing. Dr. Euan later pursued a degree in Counseling and Psychotherapy at the Australian College of Applied Professions from 1989 to 1991, focusing on psychology.

Continuing their education, Dr. Hails went on to study various aspects of mental health and therapy interventions. From 1992 to 1994, they attended London South Bank University, completing a degree in Psychosocial Interventions for Psychosis, with a focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBTp), Strengths and Weaknesses Framework (SFW), and case management. Following this, they pursued further education at the same institution in 1994-1995, earning a degree in Teaching and Supervision, specializing in psychosocial interventions.

In 1995, Dr. Hails attended the University of London, where they obtained an MSc in Mental Health Studies with a particular focus on cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and health service management. Continuing their exploration of cognitive-behavioral therapy, they later obtained a Certificate in Mindfulness-based CBT for depression from Bangor University in 2005.

Expanding their educational horizons, Dr. Hails pursued a PGCE (Post 16 Compulsory Education Health Care Studies) from the University of Greenwich from 1997 to 1999, focusing on education in the health care sector. Finally, from 2006 to 2012, they attended Cardiff University/Prifysgol Caerdydd, earning a Doctor of Education (EdD) degree. Their doctoral studies centered around cognitive behavioral therapy and education, action research, and therapy service development/education.

More recently, in 2019, Dr. Hails sought Practitioner Certification in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) from EMDR Europe, further expanding their skillset in therapeutic interventions.

Overall, Dr. Euan Hails MBE has pursued a wide array of educational achievements, encompassing fields such as nursing, counseling and psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and education in both the mental health and health care sectors.
