Noel McKenna

Noel McKenna has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. Starting with Eurofiber Nederland in 2001, they worked as a Network Administrator (Intern) where they managed the office network and developed a logistics system using Visual Basic. Noel then joined Citi in 2005 as a Graduate Developer and later became a Developer in the Settlements & Investment Banking division. In this role, they led the design and implementation of a Java application, developed a Java web app, and worked on strategic EAI for global securities information.

In 2009, Noel joined Intune Networks as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked on initiatives including developing a continuous integration solution and building a python-based test framework. Noel then joined Visa in 2011 as a Project Lead - International Payments, leading the architecture and design of an omni-channel payment gateway and working on an elastic compute initiative. Noel also had recruitment and mentoring responsibilities in this role.

From 2017 to 2022, Noel worked at BBVA Next Technologies as a Software Engineering Manager. Noel was responsible for managing the new Cloud based Payments Authorization system, as well as working on the Kubernetes based BBVA hybrid cloud computing platform.

In 2021, Noel took on the role of an MBA Mentor at IE Business School for a short period of time. Currently, they are working at Adhara as a Software Engineering Manager, starting in 2022.

Noel McKenna obtained a Master's degree in Applied Computing from the University of Galway, where they studied from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology at the same university from 1998 to 2002. Additionally, Noel attended CBS Omagh, Co. Tyrone, although the specific dates and field of study are not provided. Furthermore, they have obtained several certifications, including the Professional Scrum Product Owner from Scrum.org in October 2017, the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2020, the AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate from Amazon Web Services in November 2018, and the AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in December 2019.
