Samvel Gevorgyan

Samvel Gevorgyan has extensive work experience in information systems security and cybersecurity. SAMVEL currently holds the position of Head of Information Systems Security Department at adjarabet.am, where they have been working since 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Head of Information Systems Security Unit at the same company.

In 2023, Gevorgyan joined Tegus as a Cybersecurity Consultant, where they conduct security risk assessments, develops security master plans, and designs customized security solutions for clients. SAMVEL also writes detailed proposals, leads security-related projects, and communicates with clients to provide exceptional customer service.

From 2011 to the present, Gevorgyan has been the Founder and Managing Director of CYBER GATES, a company that offers governance, risk, and compliance services in the field of cybersecurity.

SAMVEL has also held various positions in different organizations, including being a Member of The Supervision Board at Montibus Group, a Cybersecurity Expert at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, and an ICT Expert for the Electoral Support Project at UNDP in Armenia.

In addition, Gevorgyan has experience in the banking sector, having worked as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) Advisor and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at CJSC VTB Bank (Armenia). In these roles, they were responsible for designing security systems, ensuring compliance with regulations, managing security teams, and implementing cybersecurity strategies.

Earlier in their career, Gevorgyan held positions such as Lead Information Security Specialist at Beeline, Firefox Developer at Best Soft CJSC, and Web Developer & Security Analyst at X-TECH.

Throughout their career, Gevorgyan has demonstrated strong leadership skills, successfully managed teams, and implemented effective cybersecurity measures to protect organizations from security threats.

Samvel Gevorgyan has a diverse education history. SAMVEL completed a Postgraduate degree in Information Systems & Cyber Security at C-DAC ACTS in Pune from 2010 to 2011. Prior to that, they obtained a Graduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the State Engineering University of Armenia between 2003 and 2007. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications: Ransomware: Identify, Protect, Detect, Recover from (ISC)² in 2021, CompTIA A+ Certified from CompTIA in 2013, Strategic Management of Information Technology from Aeglesight in 2013, IBM SiteProtector Centralized System Management from Security Training Center Informzaschita in 2012, and IT Essentials: PC Hardware and Software from Cisco in 2012.
