Lucas Royland's work experience starts in 2001 as a Researcher and Technician at SLAC & UCLA PBPL, where they built RF photo-injectors and electron "guns" for Stanford/UCLA/Brookhaven. Lucas then worked as a Strategic Security Project Researcher at the Federation of American Scientists from 2005 to 2006, conducting nuclear bomb blast and fallout studies, simulations, and building instructional web applications. Starting 2015, Lucas founded and served as the CEO of CiboVitam until September 2021. Currently, they work as a Senior Full Stack Engineer at Adlumin, an Inc. 5000 company.
Lucas Royland pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics at UCLA from 1999 to 2003. From 2001 to 2004, they attended Stanford University, where they focused on Physics. In 2005, Lucas participated in the Physics, Policy, and Quantum Computing program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In the same year, they also joined the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) for the PONI Nuclear Scholars Program.
