Since 2009, Pieter has played a crucial role at Acuitas Therapeutics and continues to contribute to Integrated Nanotherapeutics Inc. as a Co-Founder and Scientific Advisor. Pieter is also the Board Chair and Co-Founder of NanoVation Therapeutics and serves as a Director on the Board of the NanoMedicines Innovation Network. An accomplished academic, Pieter has been a Professor at The University of British Columbia since 1978, holding various teaching positions, and has an extensive educational background with a Doctor's Degree in Physics and postdoctoral studies in Biochemistry from prestigious institutions including Utrecht University and the University of Oxford.
