Scientist II, Team Lead at Admera

Kristen Tummillo has a diverse work experience in the field of scientific research. Kristen started their career at Albany Medical Center as a Graduate Student in 2013 and later became a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Regenerative and Cancer Cell Biology. During this time, they worked in the Karsten R. O. Hazlett Lab. In 2021, they joined Admera Health as a Scientist I, where they gained experience in DNA-based library preparation for Next Generation Sequencing projects. Kristen'srole involved leading a team and performing various types of library preparation, such as whole genome sequencing, whole exome sequencing, RAD, ddRAD, 16s rRNA sequencing, whole genome and reduced representation bisulfite sequencing, ATACseq, and custom screenings. As of now, their role at Admera Health is Scientist II, Team Lead.

Kristen Tummillo began their education journey in 2009 at Ramapo College of New Jersey, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Kristen successfully completed their undergraduate studies in 2013. Afterward, they joined Albany Medical College in 2013 to further their academic pursuits. Kristen focused on Immunology and Microbial Disease during their time at Albany Medical College, where they undertook a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program. Kristen'sdoctoral studies spanned from 2013 to 2020, culminating in the successful completion of their PhD in Immunology and Microbial Disease.
