Joao Alves

Joao Alves has a comprehensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Joao is currently serving as the Vice President of Research & Development (Downstream) at ADNOC Group since June 2021. Prior to this, Joao worked at Honeywell UOP for over two decades. Joao held various roles including Solution Development Leader from July 2017 to June 2021, Principal Consultant from September 2013 to July 2017, Technology Manager - Hydroprocessing from July 2011 to September 2013, R&D Manager - Process Design Development from October 2007 to July 2011, Senior Refining Consultant from August 2005 to October 2007, and Refining Consultant from April 2000 to August 2005. Before joining Honeywell UOP, Joao worked as a Process Engineer at M W Kellogg Limited from September 1998 to March 2000.

Joao Alves obtained a PhD in Process Integration from UMIST - University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology in the years 1995 to 1999. Joao also holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, awarded in 1993. Prior to that, they began their studies in Chemical Engineering at the same institute in 1988.
