Content Creator (Freelance) at Adolescent

Sam Mackey has held a variety of roles in the arts and media industry since 2015. In 2015, they began working as a Sales Associate at Staples, where they assisted customers with product selections and transactions, completed inventory, and stocked products. In 2018, they became an Intern at the Bushwick Community Darkroom, where they developed film, scanned negatives, and handled digital processing to fulfill customer orders. That same year, they also began volunteering for the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, assisting 600+ television professionals including Emmy nominees and Academy members at the Sofitel Hotel. In 2019, they began working as Athletics Event Staff and Conference Services Guest Service Assistant at St. John's University, where they greeted up to 5,600 patrons upon entrance to Carnesecca Arena, checked tickets for sports games, tended to needs of coaches and teams, and directed visitors to seats. In 2020, they started working as a Content Creator (Freelance) for Adolescent, creating video content for their TikTok and Instagram pages, and as a Photography Teaching Artist for ArtistYear, creating photography lesson plans for middle school students in Queens public school. In 2021, they became a Contributing Music Photographer for The Luna Collective. Finally, in 2023, they began working as an Art Instructor for Living Resources.

Sam Mackey attended St. John's University from 2016-2019, where they earned a Bachelor of Science in Photojournalism. In 2018, they began attending St. John's University Rome Campus to pursue a degree in International/Global Studies.
