Tom Heightman

Tom Heightman is currently serving as the Chief R&D Officer at Adrestia Therapeutics since October 2021. Prior to that, they worked at AstraZeneca as the VP Global Head of Oncology Chemistry from July 2019 to September 2021. Tom also held the position of VP Medicinal Chemistry & Research Alliances at Astex Pharmaceuticals from April 2017 to June 2019. Before that, Tom was the Director of Medicinal Chemistry at Astex Therapeutics from January 2011 to March 2017. Tom started their career as the Principal Investigator in Chemical Biology at the Structural Genomics Consortium from April 2008 to January 2011. Tom's earlier experience includes working at GlaxoSmithKline as the Head of Lead Discovery Chemistry from March 2007 to March 2008 and as the Manager of 7TM Systems Chemistry from January 2001 to February 2007.

Tom Heightman obtained a PhD in Organic Chemistry & Enzymology from ETH Zürich between 1993 and 1998. Prior to that, they had also completed a Master of Arts (MA) in Chemistry at the University of Oxford, although the specific years of their study at Oxford are not provided.
