Craig Newbold

Principal Engineer R&d Hardware at Adva

Craig Newbold has over 30 years of experience in hardware design and engineering. Craig started their career at Scientific Research Corporation in 1991 and held various engineering positions, gradually moving up to Senior Engineer. In 2000, they joined Movaz Networks as a Senior Engineer and later became the Director of Electronics, Optical Transport. In 2004, they returned to Scientific Research Corporation as a Principal Engineer, focusing on hardware design for Software Defined Radios. Craig also worked on system-level engineering for waveform adaptation protocols. In 2014, Craig joined ViaSat Inc. as a Hardware Engineer, where they led the design team for the VHR-3200 modem product. Craig managed the entire development process, including certification testing and production transition. Craig's most recent position is Principal Engineer at ADVA Optical Networking, where they specialize in designing amplifiers and optical switching products.

Craig Newbold completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Auburn University, where they studied from 1986 to 1991. Craig then continued their education at the Georgia Institute of Technology, pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from 1992 to 1995.
