Tara Burke

Tara Burke, PhD has a diverse background in the fields of public policy, advocacy, and research. Tara is currently serving as the Vice President of Payment and Healthcare Delivery Policy at AdvaMed since April 2022. Prior to this role, they held various positions at the Association for Molecular Pathology from 2014 to 2022, including Senior Director of Public Policy and Advocacy, Director of Public Policy and Advocacy, Senior Policy Analyst, and Policy Analyst. Tara also worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health from 2013 to 2014, focusing on chromatin structure and gene expression. Tara began their career as a Research Assistant at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they studied neurotrophin receptor signaling in the sympathetic nervous system. Tara completed their doctoral studies at the University of Virginia, where their research focused on the function of two subunits of the SAGA transcriptional co-activator complex. Overall, Tara has demonstrated expertise in policy development, research project management, and scientific analysis.

Tara Burke, PhD, completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Molecular Biology, with a minor in Chemistry, from Vanderbilt University in 2001. Tara then pursued their Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics at the University of Virginia from 2005 to 2012.
