Olesya Burney

Olesya Burney has extensive work experience in various roles related to the Russian language. In 2006, they worked as a Russian Language Instructor at the John F. Kennedy Special Warfare School and Center until 2017. From 2012 to 2012, they were a Subject Matter Expert at the Comprehensive Language Center, Inc. In 2014, they became self-employed as a Russian Linguist. Starting in 2017, they held multiple positions simultaneously, including Team Lead: Sr. Russian Subject Matter Expert at Advanced Automation Corporation, Russian Language Instructor at ICA Language Services, and, most recently, Russian Development SME at Tipping Point Solutions Inc. In 2019, they joined CACI International Inc as a Russian Language Instructor.

Olesya Burney obtained a Bachelor's degree in Technician Programming from Mirzo Ulugbek Professional College of Information in Tashkent city, Uzbekistan. Olesya also has obtained several certifications related to language instruction and teaching methodology, including Online Language Instructor Training, Designing Tasks for the Communicative Classroom, Teacher vs. Student centered classrooms, Pre-assignment Training Workshop, Critical Thinking and Meaningful Task Assignment, Effective Team-Teaching, Professional Development training on Overview of: Teams and Team Work, Interpersonal Communication, Professional Development training "8 steps of lesson-planning", Professional Development seminar on OPI/OPE Techniques and Grading, Multiple Learning Styles, "Team Teaching" workshop, 24hrs Pre-Assignment Training PAT, and American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Language ACTFL Superior in English 2+/2+ and ACTFL Superior in Russian 3/3.
