Edward Shaffer

Edward Shaffer has a diverse work experience primarily in the battery industry. Edward founded Advanced Battery Concepts in 2008 and currently serves as the CEO. The company focuses on developing energy storage systems for a zero-carbon, electric grid. Prior to that, Edward worked as the VP of Business Development at Atraverda from 2007 to 2008. Edward also worked at The Dow Chemical Company as a Senior NBD Manager from 2004 to 2007. In this role, they were responsible for developing business strategies and new product development for advanced battery materials.

Edward Shaffer pursued their education in the field of Materials Science, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign between 1982 and 1986. Edward furthered their studies with a Master of Science (MS) degree at Northwestern University from 1986 to 1988. Edward's dedication to their area of expertise led him to Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they successfully completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree from 1992 to 1995.
