Sheena Shields

Sheena Shields has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Sheena is currently the Head of Administration & Intellectual Property at Advanced Electric Machines since March 2020. Prior to this, they worked as a Business Development Manager at Newcastle University from January 2014 to March 2020. Sheena also held the position of Innovation Manager at Queen Margaret University from April 2011 to January 2014, where they were responsible for connecting Scottish SMEs with the academic knowledge base in the areas of Food & Drink, Tourism, and Creative Industries. Sheena had a shared role with Edinburgh Napier University, where they also served as an Innovation Manager, focusing on the Creative Industries sector. Before these roles, Sheena worked as a Project Manager/Dance Development Manager at Eden Court Theatre from August 2009 to December 2010. Sheena also has experience in the energy and healthcare sectors, having worked as a Senior Development Manager at Highlands & Islands Enterprise from November 2007 to August 2009, and as a Development Manager at the Center for Health Science from January 2006 to November 2007. Sheena started their career at Andor Technology, where they held various positions, including Marketing Communications Specialist, Manufacturing & Quality Control Engineer, and Research Physicist, from 1995 to 2005.

Sheena Shields completed their Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Physics with Astrophysics from Queen's University Belfast from 1991 to 1994. Sheena then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Optoelectronics & Optical Information Processing at the same university from 1994 to 1995.
