Joseph Greathouse is a Fellow at AMD with a robust background in software architecture and performance engineering, primarily focusing on hardware/software interface topics for AMD's ROCm platform in the Adaptive, Embedded and AI Group. Over the years at AMD, Joseph has held various positions including Principal Member of Technical Staff, Senior Member of Technical Staff, and Senior Design Engineer, contributing to significant projects such as the AMD Instinct MI200 and MI300 programs, as well as leading research on performance and power management in exascale computing. Prior experience includes research and teaching roles at the University of Michigan and contracts with Intel Corporation and IBM. Joseph holds a Ph.D. and MSE in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Michigan, along with a BSc in Computer Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
