Michel Baelen has had a long and varied career in quality and regulatory affairs. Michel began their career in 1980 as Quality/Safety Coordinator at Casterman. In 1993, they moved to University Hospital “CLINIQUES UNIVERSITAIRES SAINT-LUC” IN BRUSSELS, where they served as Quality Coordinator. In 1996, they joined IBA s.a. as QA&RA Manager. In 2001, they became Corporate VP Regulatory & Quality Affairs of IBA. In 2015, they took on the role of IBA Health Policy Compliance Director and Chair of Radiation Focus Group at COCIR. Finally, in 2016, they became Director of Regulatory Affairs and Quality at Advanced Oncotherapy plc and ADAM at CERN in Geneva.
Michel Baelen obtained a Doctor in Management Sciences from IAE FRANCE - Écoles Universitaires de Management between 1992 and 1996. Prior to this, they obtained a Master in Management Science from Université catholique de Louvain between 1987 and 1989. In 1984 and 1986, they were awarded an MS in Safety from Inter-University Center Ht. Additionally, they obtained an MS in Electrical Engineering from HELHa – Haute École Louvain en Hainaut between 1976 and 1980. In 2012, they were awarded a Quality System Auditor ISO 13485 for Medical Devices certification from Management Forum Ltd.
