Mark Symes

Programme Director At The Advanced Research + Invention Agency at Advanced Research + Invention Agency (ARIA)

Mark Symes is currently the Programme Director at Advanced Research + Invention Agency, where he leads research in the School of Chemistry at the University of Glasgow focusing on electrochemistry and new electrochemical technologies for sustainable fuel and chemical production. Prior to this role, he held positions as a Professor of Electrochemistry and Electrochemical Technology at the University of Glasgow and as a Research Fellow and Lecturer in the same institution. He has also worked as a Co-Founder and Chief Scientific Officer at Clyde Hydrogen Systems, specializing in the development of electrolyzers for green hydrogen production. Additionally, he has conducted postdoctoral research at Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The University of Edinburgh and holds a PhD in Chemistry from The University of Edinburgh.
