Dr. Michael Szostak has extensive work experience in the field of urology. Michael currently holds the position of Chief Medical Officer at Advanced Urology Institute since August 2022. Previously, they served as the Assistant Chief Medical Officer at Morton Plant Hospital from October 2021 to August 2022.

Dr. Szostak's previous roles include being a physician at Advanced Urology Institute from January 2018 to April 2021. Prior to that, they held multiple physician leadership positions at Morton Plant Mease starting from February 2008 to April 2021.

In addition, Dr. Szostak played a crucial role in merging the practice of Urology Specialists of West Florida, LLP into Advanced Urology Institute in January 2018. Michael was a founding member of the Executive Committee and oversaw the financial and structural integration of four separate urology groups into one successful entity. This group went on to become the largest urology group in the state of Florida.

Furthermore, Dr. Szostak participated in the physician leadership program at BayCare Health System in 2016-2017.

Michael Szostak, MD, MBA, pursued their education in a chronological manner. Michael began their academic journey at the University at Albany, SUNY, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology, General from 1988 to 1992. Afterward, they attended the State University of New York Upstate Medical University from 1992 to 1996, earning their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

Following their medical studies, Dr. Szostak underwent Surgical and Urologic Residencies at the University of Maryland Medical System from 1996 to 2002. Michael further expanded their expertise by obtaining a Diplomate of the American Board of Urology in February 2004 through the American Board of Urology. Additionally, they became a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 2006, as certified by the American College of Surgeons.

Recently, from 2021 to 2023, Dr. Szostak pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Medical/Health Management and Clinical Assistant/Specialist at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. This degree likely aimed to enhance their understanding of business strategies and management principles within the medical and health sector.
