Leigh Rutherford, SPHR, PMP, PSM, LSSGB, ITIL, GRC

Leigh Rutherford, SPHR, PMP, PSM, LSSGB, ITIL, GRC has extensive experience in human resources and project management. Leigh is currently serving as the Human Resources Director at Advantage Surgical and Wound Care since March 2022. Prior to this, Leigh worked at EyeCare Services Partners (ESP) as the Manager of HR Administration from July 2021 to April 2022, and as a Human Resources Administrator from November 2020 to August 2021.

Before joining ESP, Leigh held the position of Human Resources Director at Prestonwood Christian Academy from May 2005 to February 2020. In this role, they managed HR operations, including policy deployment, compliance, benefits, staffing, onboarding, employee relations, and leave management, among others. Leigh also served on the headmaster's leadership team and the global leadership team.

Leigh's earlier experience includes working as a Compensation and Benefits Manager at EMSI from March 1999 to May 2005. Leigh directed a team of four and oversaw the design, implementation, administration, and communication of employee benefits and compensation for 1,300+ employees. Additionally, they played a role in new employee onboarding.

Leigh's career began at Diesel Power Supply Company, where they served as the Human Resources Manager from February 1991 to March 1999. During this time, they established the HR department and implemented safety programs, HR policies/procedures, and an employee handbook. Leigh was also responsible for managing payroll and administering employee benefits.

Leigh's expertise extends beyond human resources, as they hold certifications in project management (PMP, PSM), Lean Six Sigma (LSSGB), ITIL, and governance, risk, and compliance (GRC).

Leigh Rutherford, SPHR, PMP, PSM, LSSGB, ITIL, GRC holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from Northern Illinois University. In addition to their academic background, Leigh has obtained several certifications throughout their career. They obtained the Senior Professional in Human Resources® (SPHR®) Certification from the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) in September 1996, followed by the Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification from the same institute in 1993. Some of Leigh's other certifications include the Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute in March 2022, the Professional Scrum Master™ I (PSM I) from Scrum.org in January 2021, and the COBIT® 2019 Foundation Certificate from ISACA in March 2021.
