John Forren

John Forren serves as the Director of the Office of Monitoring & Assessment at the USEPA in Philadelphia since July 2008, while also contributing as an Environmental Scientist at the same agency since February 1989. In addition, John Forren volunteers as a scuba diver at Adventure Aquarium and works as a scuba instructor at The Dive Shop. As an adjunct faculty member in the Master of Environmental Studies Program at the University of Pennsylvania, John Forren shares expertise in environmental education. Other roles include a long-standing commitment as a firefighter with Wenonah Fire Company and previous positions as a biologist and park ranger with the US Army Corps of Engineers. John's career began in the US Forest Service and includes military service as a Sergeant in the US Army. Educational background includes both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University.
