Brent Kaplan

Brent Kaplan is a data scientist at Advocates for Human Potential, Inc. since January 2023, with previous experience as an Assistant Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine from September 2019 to January 2023, and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Virginia Tech from February 2017 to September 2019. In the role at Virginia Tech, Brent Kaplan oversaw an NIH grant focused on reduced-nicotine cigarette standards and developed a data analytic pipeline for behavioral data analysis. Prior experience includes serving as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Center for Research Methods and Data Analysis at the University of Kansas in 2016, and as an instructor and teaching assistant at the University of Kansas from 2011 to 2015, where high student evaluations were received. Additionally, as a Graduate Writing Consultant, Brent Kaplan assisted students with various writing projects and contributed to university outreach efforts. Education includes a PhD in Behavioral Sciences, an MA in Applied Behavior Analysis, and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Behavioral Science and Psychology, all from the University of Kansas.
