Shanizea Husain

Muslim Youth Leadership Council Organizer at Advocates for Youth

Shanizea Husain is an accomplished activist, organizer, and writer with a focus on promoting the human rights of Muslims. Currently serving as the Muslim Youth Leadership Council Organizer at Advocates for Youth since August 2021, Shanizea has represented the organization at various national events. In addition to recent experience as a Podcast Collaborator for Amideast and roles at Socrates Sculpture Park that included teaching public workshops and facilitating community engagement, Shanizea has coordinated community forums aimed at underserved youth. A background in policy research has been established through an internship with the New York State Senate, and leadership in fundraising and social media campaigns has demonstrated a commitment to female political representation. Shanizea is pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government at Hunter College, supplemented by a minor in Asian-American Studies.
