John Sellens

John Sellens has had a diverse range of work experience spanning several roles and industries. John most recently served as the CTO at AEC Daily since 2017. Prior to this, they were the owner of SYONEX starting in 2004. John also worked as a Senior DevOps at Capital One from 2016 to 2017. Their previous positions include Senior System Administrator at Nightingale Informatix from 2014 to 2015, Operations Team at FreshBooks from 2009 to 2014, and System Administrator at Magna International from 2005 to 2009. John held the role of General Manager at Certainty Solutions and GNAC from 1999 to 2005. Before this, they worked as the Director of Network Engineering at uunet canada from 1997 to 1999 and as a System Administrator at the University of Waterloo from 1986 to 1997.

John Sellens completed their Bachelor of Mathematics degree in Accounting from the University of Waterloo from 1977 to 1982. John then pursued further education and obtained a Master of Mathematics degree in Computer Science from the same university from 1983 to 1986.
