Cathal O'Looney

Cathal O'Looney has extensive work experience in the finance and insurance industry. Cathal is currently working as the Director of Insurance & Finance at Aecon Group Inc. since September 2023. Prior to that, they held various roles at Kinross Gold Corporation, including Director of Treasury & Global Insurance, Senior Manager of Treasury, Treasury Manager, and Senior Treasury Analyst. Cathal also worked as a Corporate Recovery/Distressed M&A Manager at BDO Canada, where they provided advice on viability and liquidity issues to financially challenged businesses. Additionally, they served as an Insolvency and Restructuring Manager and Audit Senior at HLB Ryan & Co. Cathal started their career as a Senior Financial Analyst at PNC.

Cathal O'Looney has pursued education in the field of accounting. Cathal attended Chartered Accountants Ireland and obtained knowledge in accounting. Additionally, they completed a Master of Science degree in Financial Services from the University of Limerick. Prior to that, Cathal completed a Bachelor of Business Studies degree in Business Computing from Limerick Institute of Technology. Cathal's education also includes involvement with Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada).
