René Berenschot

René Berenschot has extensive work experience in the financial industry. René most recently worked as an Executive Director in Institutional Business Development at Aegon Asset Management starting in 2023. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Institutional Clients at ASR Asset Management from 2016 to 2023. René has also held positions at FTB Nederland B.V. as a Financial Advisor from 2012 to 2017, BNG Bank as the Head of Sales and Business Development at BNG Asset Management from 2007 to 2016, and Van Lanschot Bankiers as the Head of Institutional Clients from 2005 to 2007. Earlier in their career, they were a Partner at Private Finance from 2004 to 2005, a Senior Asset Manager at Kempen Capital Management from 2001 to 2003, and a Director at Van der Hoop Capital Management from 1993 to 2001.

René Berenschot attended Hogeschool Drenthe from 1987 to 1991, where they studied business economics. René then pursued further education at CFA Society VBA Netherlands from 1996 to 1999, obtaining a RBA degree. Later, they enrolled at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University from 2010 to 2012 to earn a MSc in Business Administration. Finally, from 2014 to 2015, René attended Erasmus University Rotterdam, where they completed an LLM in Financial Law.
