Dr. Madhuri (Mani) Roy is an associate in the firm’s Intellectual Property Group in the Palo Alto office. Dr. Roy specializes in patent prosecution and counseling for clients in the areas of biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
Dr. Roy brings over ten years of integrative biotechnology experience to her practice. She has industry experience in mid-size and large biotech companies in the areas of discovery, target validation, screening and in vivo pharmacology. She has also conducted academic research in the molecular and cellular aspects of neurodegenerative and neuropsychiatric diseases. Dr. Roy is the author of numerous scientific publications.
Prior to law school, Dr. Roy worked as a patent agent at an internationally recognized law firm where her practice focused on patent prosecution and performing due diligence for start-up biotechnology companies.
Dr. Roy holds a J.D. magna cum laude from the Santa Clara University School of Law. During law school, she specialized in intellectual property. She received her Ph.D. in neuroscience from Stanford University where her research focused on the molecular and cellular aspects of gene therapy for the central nervous system, and she holds a B.A. from Cornell University in biochemistry.
Dr. Roy is admitted to practice before the United States Patent & Trademark Office and is a member of the California State Bar.
