Ian Horsfield

Ian Horsfield is a highly experienced engineering professional specializing in wind energy, with a career spanning over a decade in the sector. Currently serving as a Senior Wind Turbine Specialist at Aer Soléir since October 2021, Ian also holds the title of Chartered Engineer with Engineers Ireland since May 2016. Prior experience includes significant roles at SSE Renewables, where Ian was pivotal as Offshore Mechanical Team Leader and Technical Authority for offshore wind projects, managing a portfolio exceeding 10GW and leading critical engineering efforts on major developments like the Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm. Ian's foundational experience includes mechanical engineering contributions to onshore and offshore wind projects, as well as product development in R&D with Alert Packaging. Ian holds a BSc in Engineering and Management from Trinity College Dublin and an MSc in Renewable Energy Systems and the Environment from the University of Strathclyde.
