Taylor McDonnell

Taylor McDonnell is an experienced aeromechanical engineer currently serving as Aeromechanical Engineer III at AeroVironment since July 2023. Prior to this role, Taylor worked as a Research Assistant at Brigham Young University from May 2016 to April 2023, focusing on a dissertation involving gradient-based optimization of highly flexible aeroelastic structures, and authored a finite element analysis code for sensitivity analysis. Previous internships include positions at AeroVironment, where Taylor developed a design optimization framework for high-altitude solar aircraft, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, where computational fluid dynamics was performed on iced airfoils, and Precision Castparts, where Taylor enhanced technical documentation to improve production efficiency.
