Hiroyuki Akashi has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning several companies in the battery technology industry.
Hiroyuki began their career at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1992 as a Visiting Scientist.
In the same year, they joined Sony as a Distinguished Engineer & Senior Manager, specializing in Li-ion battery technology. Hiroyuki held this role for 17 years, until 2009.
In 2009, Akashi joined Nissan Motor Corporation as the Deputy General Manager for Li-ion battery & System Engineering. During their tenure, they played a crucial role in the development and management of the company's Li-ion battery systems. Hiroyuki held this position until December 2020.
Since 2019, Akashi has been working at Envision AESC, where they initially served as the Corporate Vice President and Head of New Product Development. In January 2021, they were promoted to the role of CTO Executive Vice President, showcasing their leadership and expertise in the field.
Hiroyuki Akashi has pursued higher education in the field of Applied Chemistry, earning a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from The University of Tokyo. Additionally, they have studied Polymer Science at Sophia University.
