Sachi Atmalingam

Capt. Sachi assumed his position as Global Director of HSSE (Health, Safety, Security and Environment) and Industry Partnerships in AET in June 2021.

Prior to this appointment, he had been the Head of Group HSSE at MISC Berhad since 2017 where he led the organisational transformation of GHSSE. Capt. Sachi has also been involved in several MISC Group initiatives including the restructuring of both Malaysian Maritime Academy Sdn Bhd (MMASB) and Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM) which MMASB operates.

He started his career sailing for more than 16 years obtaining his Master License (Captain with Command) and since 2004 held various roles onshore including Global Director of Technical Services and Development, Vice President of Operations (Asia) and Global Operations Prime in AET. He has represented AET and MISC in different Technical and Owners’ Committees for various classification societies and the Global Maritime Forum.

Capt. Sachi holds a Class 1 Master Mariner’s license (Foreign Going), and an MBA from University of Tasmania.
