Dr. David B. Harvey

Dr. David B. Harvey has extensive work experience in various industries. Dr. David B. currently serves as the Chief Technology Officer at AFC Energy plc, starting in May 2021. Prior to that, they worked at FCP Fuel Cell Powertrain GmbH from 2018 to 2021, serving as the Head of Fuel Cell Stack & System. Dr. David B. was also a Guest Scientist at Technische Universität Chemnitz from 2018 to 2020. In 2017, Dr. Harvey worked as the Leader of Engineering Design at Genesis Robotics. From 2015 to 2017, they held the position of Vice President, Technology at Axine Water Technologies. Dr. Harvey spent a significant portion of their career at Ballard Power Systems from 2005 to 2014, where they served as a Senior Research Engineer and led a multi-disciplinary team in the development of improved state-of-the-art membrane electrode assemblies and unit cell designs. Dr. David B. also has experience in product design engineering at Aerospace Telecommunications and Engineering Squadron and product development and research engineering at Aceram Technologies, where they designed and developed ceramic-based armor systems and custom industrial ceramic parts.

Dr. David B. Harvey completed their Bachelor of Engineering degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, and Astronautical Engineering from Ryerson University from 1998 to 2002. Dr. David B. then pursued their MSc. in Mechanical Engineering at Queen's University from 2002 to 2005. Dr. Harvey continued their educational journey at Queen's University, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from 2009 to 2017.
