Scientist Ii, Analytical Development at Affinia Therapeutics

Shahrzad Parker has a diverse work experience starting from their internship with the University of Tehran as an undergraduate intern in 2012. Shahrzad also worked for the Seed and Plant Certification and Registration Institute as an intern in 2013, and Falat Iran Co. as a field researcher in 2014. In 2017, Shahrzad served as a research assistant for the University of Florida until 2021. From 2022 to 2023, Shahrzad worked for Thermo Fisher Scientific as a scientist II, assay development and analytics, viral vector services before joining Affinia Therapeutics as a Scientist II in May 2023. Shahrzad'sroles included conducting research, performing experiments, analyzing data using various laboratory techniques, and producing publications. Shahrzad is skilled in enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, DNA/RNA purification, PCR, qPCR, gel electrophoresis, next-generation sequencing, metagenomics, and SAS procedures. Shahrzad has demonstrated leadership, teamwork, project management skills, and high-quality standards through supervising and implementing experiments, material management, and stability studies of vectors for gene therapy.

Shahrzad Parker received their Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Engineering with a focus on Agronomy and Plant Breeding from the University of Tehran in 2012. In 2013, they returned to the University of Tehran and earned their Master's degree in Plant Biotechnology in 2015. Shahrzad went on to pursue a PhD in Horticultural Sciences, Plant Physiology, and Plant Molecular Biology at the University of Florida in 2017 and is expected to complete the program in 2021.
