Josh Wingstrom

Josh Wingstrom has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Their most recent position is Chief Technology Officer at Affirm Health, where they started in May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at East Five from December 2015 to August 2022, serving as President & Partner. At East Five, Josh developed a hybrid business model combining internal development team and agency services.

From December 2014 to December 2015, they were the Chief Technology Officer at NC2 Media, overseeing a top-secret technology research lab. Before that, they held the same position at Lonely Planet from February 2014 to December 2014.

In 2013, Josh was the Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Magic Moments App, where they developed a proprietary technology for the custom product market. This technology allowed for dynamic updates without requiring app updates.

From 2010 to 2013, they were the Technology Founder & Chief Technology Officer at RED Method, helping transition the company from professional services to product-based offerings. Josh's focus was on creating seamless user experiences and recruiting talented individuals.

Earlier in their career, Josh worked as a Software Architect/Engineer at Decision Research Corporation from January 2008 to August 2010. Josh was responsible for designing, building, and marketing software products for insurance and financial companies. Josh also had roles at the University of Hawaii at Manoa as a Research Assistant, where they worked on various research projects related to supercomputing and PHP framework development.

Josh started their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Command Systems Inc. from May 2000 to June 2002.

Josh Wingstrom completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at Valparaiso University from 1998 to 2002. Josh then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Human-Computer Interaction at the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 2002 to 2005. After that, they furthered their education and earned a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa from 2005 to 2009.

In terms of certifications, Josh Wingstrom obtained the following: they became a Certified Scrum Developer (CSD) and a Certified Scrum Master (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance in May 2015. Josh also obtained a Private Pilot Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration in May 2015. In addition, in January 2003, they received the Open Water Diver certification from PADI.
