The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) is the largest federal union representing 670,000 federal government employees. Our members are the doctors, Border Patrol agents, scientists, correctional officers, nurses, and food inspectors who keep America healthy and safe.

The Communications Team at AFGE is responsible for crafting and disseminating key messages that highlight the union's mission, achievements, and advocacy efforts. This team manages internal and external communications, oversees media relations, and develops strategic communication plans to elevate the conversation about labor practices and union importance in the public sphere. Through press releases, social media, newsletters, and media engagements, they amplify the voices of AFGE members and promote the union's initiatives.

The Leadership Team at AFGE oversees the strategic direction and operations of the union, working to advocate for and protect the rights of federal government employees. Comprised of senior union officials, including the National President and various Vice Presidents, the team coordinates efforts to enhance labor practices, engage with members, and elevate the national conversation around the importance of unions.

The Legal and Compliance team at AFGE is responsible for ensuring that the union’s activities are in adherence with federal laws and regulations. This team provides legal counsel, handles fairness and equal employment opportunity (EEO) issues, supports litigation, and ensures compliance with labor practices to protect and advocate for the rights of AFGE members.

The Accounting and Finance team at AFGE handles financial planning, oversight, and reporting to ensure effective use of funds and compliance with regulations. They manage accounting records, oversee budget allocations, and provide financial analysis to support strategic decisions.

Accounting and Finance

The Information Technology Team at AFGE ensures the secure, efficient, and effective operation of the union's digital infrastructure. This team, consisting of the Information Security Manager, Information Technology Service Engineer, and IT Operations Manager, is responsible for protecting data, maintaining and troubleshooting IT systems, and optimizing technology operations to support AFGE’s mission of advocating for federal government employees.
