Samuel Logan

Sam Logan is Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Assistant Corporate Secretary at Afiniti. Sam’s legal responsibilities include corporate and securities transactions, strategic partnerships and commercial engagements, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and public company readiness.

Prior to joining Afiniti in 2018, Sam was Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and Assistant Secretary for Blackboard Inc., a global education technology company. While at Blackboard, Sam was responsible for corporate matters including M&A, corporate governance, and securities, and was the principal legal advisor for Blackboard’s Services vertical. He served as Acting General Counsel in 2015.

From 2005-2010, Sam worked in the Washington, DC office of Latham & Watkins LLP. At Latham, Sam represented clients across the communications, education, healthcare, aerospace and defense industries in a variety of matters including mergers & acquisitions, private equity, cross-border transactions, corporate governance, venture capital and securities.

Sam received his JD with honors in 2005 from Georgetown University Law Center, where he taught legal research and writing, and was Executive Editor of the Georgetown Journal of International Law. He received a degree in Political Science with highest honors from Cedarville University in 2001, and studied abroad at Oxford University, Keble College.
