Richard L. Gilbert

Richard L. Gilbert is the SVP, Chief Digital Information Officer at Aflac. Richard has also previously worked for GeorgiaCIO, Aflac, Adapt Ideations, and CxO Analytics.

Richard has a wealth of experience in the IT industry, having worked in various executive roles for companies such as IBM, Lenovo, and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In their role as Board of Director for CxO Analytics, they were responsible for the HPE Global Infrastructure and Operations (ITIO) organization – a role which they used to maintain HPE's position as a leading provider of IT infrastructure, software, services, and solutions.

More recently, Richard has been working with Adapt Ideations as a member of their board of advisors. In this role, they were responsible for the separation of IT systems between IBM and Lenovo as part of the transition from IBM Personal Computing Division to the Lenovo Corporation. This involved managing all aspects of data and application segmentation between the two companies.

Richard's extensive experience in IT makes him a valuable asset to Aflac, where they are currently working to further develop their digital capabilities. Under their leadership, Aflac is sure to continue its trajectory as a leading insurer in the US.

Richard L. Gilbert received their Master of Business Administration from UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School, where they studied business strategy. Prior to that, they received a Bachelor of Electric Engineering from Auburn University. Richard also holds a certification from the Project Management Institute in Project Management Professional.
