Coen Ter Wal

Coen ter Wal is a seasoned professional in the financial sector, currently serving as the Director and Head of Technology and Operations at the Association for Financial Markets in Europe since July 2023. Previously, Coen held the position of Senior Strategy Advisor at De Nederlandsche Bank, focusing on FinTech and operational resilience while leading initiatives related to crypto innovations, data-sharing, and digital resilience. Internationally, Coen has contributed as Vice-Chair of the EIOPA InsurTech Task Force and a member of multiple financial groups addressing digital operational resilience and FinTech. Coen's background includes roles as Financial Attaché at the Permanent Representation of the Netherlands to the EU and as an economist at the Netherlands Ministry of Finance. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Political Economy from the London School of Economics and a Bachelor's in Economics from Tilburg University, alongside professional certifications in blockchain technology.
