Dr Soodesh Beegun

Dr Soodesh Beegun has extensive work experience in the financial industry, specifically in the areas of risk management, information security, and IT. Dr Soodesh has held various leadership positions at AfrAsia Bank Limited, including Chief Information Security Officer and Acting Head of Risk. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing the bank's information and technology security, developing and implementing security frameworks, and managing key risks. Prior to that, Dr Beegun served as the Head of AML and Operational Risk /DPO at AfAsia Bank Limited, where they facilitated the management of money laundering and compliance risk. Dr Soodesh also has experience in IT and operations management, having held roles such as Head of ICT and Support Services and Deputy MLRO. Additionally, Dr Beegun has a background in IT systems management and has worked for organizations such as SBI (Mauritius) Ltd and INDIAN OCEAN INTERNATIONAL BANK LIMITED. Earlier in their career, they founded their own company, ICML Ltd, where they provided training, sales of computers, and system development services.
