Jumaane Tafawa has a diverse work experience. Jumaane co-founded and served as a Managing Partner at Heritage Connection, a firm that supports African family businesses in creating legacies. Jumaane also co-founded and held the position of Executive Director at Africa Eats, a Mauritian-based holding company with diversified agribusiness and food companies across Africa. In addition, they worked as an Independent Non-Executive Director at various companies, including Griffon Energy Guyana Inc, Oil and Gas Solutions Guyana Inc, and V and W Logistics Inc. Jumaane served as an Independent Non-Executive Director at a FinTech Subsidiary of a top Nigerian bank from 2017 to 2018. Earlier in their career, Jumaane held several roles at Equity Bank Limited, including Group Director of Strategic Partnerships and Initiatives, Director of Investment Banking, and General Manager of SME Banking. Jumaane also served as Chairman of the Board at Equity Insurance Agency, Executive Director at Equity Consulting Group, and held positions at the Initiative for Global Development as Director of Frontier 100 and Manager of Frontier 100. Jumaane has demonstrated leadership and expertise in various sectors, including finance, entrepreneurship, and African development.

Jumaane Tafawa's education history includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from Skidmore College, which they completed from 1999 to 2003. During this time, they focused on Economics, Business Management, and Computer Science. Jumaane later pursued a Master of Public Administration/International Development degree at Harvard Kennedy School from 2005 to 2007. Through this program, they specialized in the field of International Development.
