Jean Didier Akpona

Jean Didier Akpona, PhD, MBA, has extensive experience in natural resources management and conservation. Currently serving as the Funding and Reporting Manager and Special Projects Manager at African Parks Network since November 2019, Jean has previously held roles as an External Expert for the CEBIoS programme and project manager for the EVAMAB project in Benin with the Institut royal des Sciences Naturelles de Belgique from July 2016 to November 2019. As Head of Research Unit at Laboratoire de Biomathématiques et d'Estimations Forestières from May 2014 to November 2019, Jean focused on forest ecology and management. Jean's education includes a PhD in Natural Resources Management from the University of Abomey-Calavi and a Master's degree from Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech, among other qualifications in environmental and natural resource management.
