Rachael Twumasi-Corson has an extensive work experience in the education and non-profit sectors. Rachael began their career in 2010 as the Founder & CEO of Afrocenchix. In 2013, they became an Education Assistant at Nelson Primary School, where they supported students with special educational needs, focusing on literacy and numeracy. In 2014, they were a Cover Supervisor at The Petchey Academy, Hackney, where they taught students aged 11-18 covering a range of subjects. In 2015, they were a Student Business Advisor at UCL, where they helped students learn about, start and grow businesses. In 2016, they became a Program Manager at Tutorfair, where they managed hundreds of volunteer tutors and schools. In 2017, they were a Community Lead for The Rain Cloud & The CivTech Forum, where they worked with government organisations and tech start-ups to build the UK Civ Tech/Gov Tech community. In 2020, they were recruited to join the leadership team of the Black Writers Guild C.I.C., where they created the Guild constitution and officially established the organisation as a C. I. Rachael is currently an Non Executive Director of British Mensa Limited, where they are supporting on modernisation, rebrand and value proposition for members.
Rachael Twumasi-Corson attended the University of Birmingham from 2008 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in Law. In 2009, they also attended Mapalim and obtained an NVQ Level 2 in Childcare, Learning and Development. From 2011 to 2012, they attended the Institute of Trichologists for a course in Trichology. In 2014, they attended UCL and obtained a Master of Science (MSc) in Medical Anthropology. Additionally, Rachael Twumasi-Corson attended Common Purpose for a course in Leadership and St Dominic's Sixth Form College, where they studied Maths, Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Psychology, and Critical Thinking.
