Riz Nwosu has over 19 years of work experience in various roles. In 2001, they began their career as a Software Technician at AT&T. In 2002, they became a Production Assistant at MTV Networks/Logo. In 2004, they were a Production Assistant at NBCUniversal, Inc. In 2005, they became a Digital Entertainment Writer at Bauer Media. In 2008, they were a Product Development & Marketing at Ultra Records. In 2010, they were a Product Development & Marketing at BlackBerry. In 2013, they were a Product Manager at AppCurious and a Head of Digital Partnerships & Strategy at Open Garden Inc. In 2021, they became a Co-Founder at AfroLandTV and is currently an Owner and Founder at Social Gear Media.

Riz Nwosu attended California State University, Long Beach from 2000 to 2002, where they studied Computer Science. They then transferred to California State University, Northridge and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Media Management from 2002 to 2004.
