Cassidy R.

Cassidy R. has a diverse range of work experience starting in 2019 as a Sales Specialist at Apple. They later worked as a Barista at Starbucks, prioritizing customer service and efficient food and drink preparation. Cassidy then took on the role of Journalism Department Assistant at the Los Angeles Community College District, supporting the professor and managing resources for writers and incoming students. They continued to expand their journalism skills as a Sales Associate at Vans, where they provided customer assistance and handled the register. At the same time, Cassidy served as President of NAHJ at CSULB, organizing meetings and communicating opportunities to chapter members. They also gained experience as a Managing Editor at DIG en Español, overseeing content and design for the publication. More recently, Cassidy worked as a Creative Team Writer Lead at After-School All-Stars, Los Angeles, responsible for social media verbiage, newsletter direction, and engagement strategies. Currently, Cassidy is working as a Freelance Journalist for CALÓ News.

Cassidy R. earned a Bachelor's degree in Journalism from California State University, Long Beach, from 2021 to 2023. Prior to that, Cassidy attended East Los Angeles College from 2019 to 2021, where they acquired an Associate of Arts - AA in Journalism. Their education journey started at James A. Garfield Senior High School, where Cassidy completed their secondary education from 2015 to 2019.
