Michael Schmidt

Michael Schmidt is a prominent attorney with extensive experience in labor and employment law. Since April 2005, Michael has served as Vice Chair of the National Labor and Employment Department at Cozen O'Connor, where also holds the position of Office Managing Partner for the New York Midtown location and is a shareholder in the Labor & Employment Group. In addition to legal practice, Michael has been the Chairman of the Board of Directors for After-School All-Stars in New York since 1996, advocating for after-school programs that provide constructive alternatives for underprivileged youth. Michael has contributed to legal education as an Adjunct Professor of Law at Touro Law Center from 2002 to 2014, teaching a course in Employment Law. Previous roles include attorney positions at Fischbein Badillo Wagner Harding LLP and McMillan, Rather, Bennett & Rigano, P.C., as well as pro bono work with Long Island Works Coalition. Michael holds a JD with Distinction from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University and a BA with Honors from Brandeis University.
