Cerise Cooper has a diverse work experience in the cosmetics industry spanning over several roles and companies. Cerise started their career in 2003 as a Counter Assistant at Boots, where they developed excellent customer service skills. Cerise then worked as a Formulation Technician at Unilever HPC from 2007 to 2008, where they managed a project for formulating a new variant in the Axe brand.
After that, Cerise worked at the University of Birmingham as a Research Fellow in 2013. Cerise then joined Hampshire Cosmetics in 2014, where they served as a Development Chemist and Blue Sky Coordinator. In this role, they researched and presented potential new trends and product ideas, developed new formulations within various categories, and advised on clinical testing and product claims substantiation.
Going forward, Cerise joined Tropic Skincare in 2016, initially as a Formulation and Quality Assurance Chemist and later as an NPD and Laboratory Manager. At Tropic Skincare, they managed laboratory activities, formulated new products, and ensured they met strict customer requirements.
In 2017, Cerise worked as a Technical Product Manager at United Cosmetics, where they oversaw the development and management of technical products. Cerise then joined Ciaté London in 2019 as a Technical Product Manager, continuing their work in product development and management.
From 2020 to 2022, they worked as a Freelance Sustainability, Technical, and Product Consultant at CJC Solutions. In this role, Cerise achieved significant milestones such as transitioning a major high street brand's packaging to 85% post-consumer recycled materials and implementing an ethical supply chain for skincare brands. Cerise also provided advisory services on sustainable approaches, created and maintained chain of custody for greener packaging, and supported governance and regulatory compliance in the cosmetics industry.
Most recently, in 2022, Cerise became the owner of Zero Waste Wagon, demonstrating their entrepreneurial skills. In 2023, they joined Again as a Business Development Representative, using their expertise to drive business growth. Throughout their career, Cerise has showcased their abilities in project management, delivering results, and building strong relationships with clients.
Cerise Cooper's education history begins in 2003 when they attended Franklin College, Grimsby. Cerise pursued A Levels in English Literature, Chemistry, Psychology, and Mathematics, achieving grades of C in English Literature and Chemistry, and a grade of B in Psychology and Mathematics.
In 2004, they enrolled at the Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education, where they pursued a NVQ in Cosmetic Make-up and Beauty Consultancy, Facial Massage, and Skin Care. Cerise completed their studies in 2005.
From 2005 to 2009, Cerise attended De Montfort University, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree with honors in Pharmaceutical Science (Cosmetic Products).
Lastly, from 2009 to 2013, they studied at the University of Birmingham, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical Engineering.
